Poetry helps you go and see
as someone else instead
like trading someone's eyeballs and putting them in your own head
I could just tell you something, but you might not get it
as a poem, an inserted minds image shifts perspective
ever wonder how Ghengis khan ruled a continent before telecommunications?
with a vast army of illiterate men, conquering all kinds of nations?
through word of mouth, but how could a message be remembered?
and not change from one to another, from August to December?
how could he be in Korea and give orders to Afghanistan?
surely something would get jumbled, passed from man to man
he sent messages through poetry, look it up
because a poem can get in your mind with a hook and tug
it escorts you on a journey and displays ideas the way it planned to
if poetry can conquer almost all of Asia, imagine what else it can do

Poetry's Power
#AvengeFloyd
He'll never be back
Father of two that rolled with DJ Screw
H-town to Minnesota for a new start
keeping kids out of gangs with a true heart
he was big Floyd in the third ward
we send his words into the world
the kind of man we need
the kindness we could see
a soul that planted seeds
silenced by a knee
another unarmed black man killed by a white cop
Those protesting for haircuts couldn't quite stop
these white cops from killing black kin,
the constitution wasn't there for him
it sat in a vault and didn't do shit
rich politicians that talk about freedom?
This spot, the campaign trail didn't lead them
the pro life protesters must have been busy
caring more about a zygote
than a lynching of black folks
You can't oppress
and not expect
to be met
a cause with effect
newton's third law
will ensure raw
it's gonna fall
to avenge them all
Avenge Emmett Till & Rodney King
Philando Castile & Joseph Mann
Eric Garner & Alton Sterling
Breonna Taylor & Sandra Bland
Ahmad Arbury & Rekia Boyd
Freddie Gray, Meagan Hockaday,

The Present's Present
Allow my present
Allow my present self to present
Allow my present self to present this
present
It's the present
Bodies of atoms of cells
Bodies on planets
Organelles of the cell
Particles in the atom
Systems of the body
Systems of the planets
Orbits of the planets and the atom
Part of a galactic shell
This amazement can't be contained
This engagement happening in the brain
When I'm sad and need some reversal of
mentality
I think unclad of the universe and
become happy
One second of being present
and the mind would explode
trying to handle the load
way too much to comprehend
yet here we are, perplexed
the complexity is relenting
disorienting, it shouldn't exist
but it does, persisting in flux
in between bosons and galaxies
a big bang and entropy casualties
non sensical light and dark energies
biochemical fights rage in our bodies
electricity goes back and forth in our
heads
thoughts zap along through neurons
until we are gone, dead and forgotten
eventually.
But until then, every femtosecond
every atom with us is sacred
every chance to understand more
every stance against what we abhor
must be seized and not wasted,
we have it within us to all be the
greatest
the most compassionate and curious “we”
we can be
the best culmanation of humanity we can
see
to enhance how we can our gifted time
segment
in the present
Up for a spin?

Moments

The

Massive

Moments
change and become us
We
are the sum of events
That

Time

It

It

Personality

That

A

How
we feel and make sense
The
documentary that we direct
The
experience we etch in steel
What
percolates into our essence
And
long after memories fade,
And
neurons with age wash away
Just
the important moments remain
In
our gut, as feelings we can't explain
As
the best parts of the final amount
Let's
make them count

Let the back light shine
Up in your mind
Flip the eyes
See the Brain
See thoughts pulsate

Glide cognition
Bar the discard of specifics to for generalities
Familiarity can deceive, it seems better
We believe if it's repeated, or if we already think it
We think our shit ain't stinkin
Defend what gets the cheddar

We're blind to our own
We notice what's closest when light isn't shown
Sparks in brains keep you alive

Please don't kill yourself
I'm sure everyone here has heard
the typical spiel about us and the universe
how the atoms in our bodies were fused in stars
how insignificant Earth seems from afar
how we are all the cosmos understanding itself
to care for Smart Life, it may exist nowhere else
but I want to focus on the fact that we're here
that you can ponder touch someone and drink a beer
at the same time in a glorious machine
that we call a body as you careen
with an air bubble stuck to a rock
where inside spins a molten magnet top
flying through the cosmos a Thousand Miles a minute
but you have in your skull the most complex thing in it
you see space isn't much more as far as We Know
than fiery gases and Dusty snow
it has no feelings it can't fall in love
these glorious inanimate objects don't think of
anything in particular they just are
hurling and whirling along with the Stars
you, on the other hand
you think
you love
you create
you fuck
you breastfeed
you dance
help those in need
advance
yourself to be better than who you were
bring meaningless chaos order
the exception to entropy
the light of consciousness
you, my friend are alive

Donald J Trump Victory Speech
I would like to thank the Republican party for this nomination
Thank you for gerrymandering the districts, defunding education and for years insinuating what I finally came out and said. Establishment- ya losers, my opponents- ya losers, and my supporters .... ha ha.. ya losers
Man who am I kidding I don't even talk like this.
You all outta be ashamed of yourselves.
I, Donald John Drumpf, brought out the worst in all of you. All your delusions of grandeur, thinking you are better than someone else because you were expulsed from a womb on one side of a line, thinking the old book you live by is better than another old book on the other side of the world someone else lives by that's almost the same, thinking America was great until the brown people fucked it up. NEWS FLASH! America was great...until white people got here. I have been waiting for years to expose the bigotry of so many in the American right.
Meanwhile I've sold this primitive juvenile concept of luxury to shit for brains like you, there is no such thing! You pay 100 times as much for a hotel room because it has an aluminum chandelier with gold spray paint, it's all in your head, its the same shit! I buy gas station wine, put a drop of soy sauce in it and sell it for a grand and people fall for it! It's the same as my political circus, I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, I've been bullshitting my way through this whole thing asking myself "what would Joe six pack do?" Thinking people were too smart to fall for it. I'm just a jagoff with a surgically implanted toupee, I can't run company without bankrupting it much less the world's biggest economy. I'd have waaaay more money if 30 years ago I had invested my fathers inheritence in mutual funds and retired retired to start a career ion water colors instead of gallivanting around hiring lawyers to save me after every failure. Skepticism is sexy people, quit being stupid.
Hillary Clinton is my homie, she came to my wedding! I confess, I lost a game of poker to her 20 years ago, and she bet me a beer that I wouldn't make up this crazy persona to corral the idiots of our country into a festival of ignorance to hijack the republican party, and y'all dumbasses fell for it! Well Rodham, I prefer Shiner and look forward to tasting sweet victory.
I've been a democrat for years, I've only started saying racist shit recently, I've changed every position I've had, I figured it would be obvious!
Now let me tell you some stuff that should be obvious, we are one humanity, God does not see race, religion or borders so neither should we. He just wants us to love one another as if every human being anywhere were your own child or parent. Showing off wealth is not only immature, it's ridiculous. Focus on lessening the suffering of others and feeding your brain if you want to earn the respect of those around you. Hillary, I love you but you had your chance in '08 Bernie is the man for the job we need now.
Effective immediately I am giving 99% of my wealth to charities that look after Syrian refugees, I'm moving to an island in the south pacific to get as far away from you nutjobs as possible, I will conclude with the speech at the end of Charlie Chaplin's the great dictator,
listen to it carefully, and get some counseling you people make me sick.

What Matters Most
![]() |
| Saturn V Rocket, Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas |
What matters to you most?
Who is most dear to you in your life?
What makes you at peace more than anything?
FUCK IT. IT DOESN’T MATTER MORE THAN THIS.
NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT I AM GOING TO GOING TO
BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION RIGHT THE FUCK NOW.
Life on earth.
4 times before, shit has come from the sky and killed most
living things.
To not worry about it because it hasn’t happened in a while
is like a roach comfortable in your cabinet or crossing your
floor tile
in front of you because she doesn’t know anyone who’s been
stomped,
and yeah they fumigate sometimes and every little roach
heart stops,
but it hasn’t happened in so long, things should be fine.
In the meantime, this divine house is so nice and cozy,
and yeah it might behoove to plan in case this rosy situation
changes,
an escape route to avoid obliteration to save us,
kill the human so roaches survive, or at least make it move
for the sake of roach life,
but… why should we? Let’s just make love, eat, and sleep,
life is good, see?!
This planet is a billiard ball, rolling towards whatever
might come our way,
like the 48 tons of
space rock that fall from the sky every day,
there are flying asteroids everywhere waiting for us,
most of which we don’t notice until it’s under our noses
Like people in Russia a few years ago that saw a bright
blaze
Like a second sun it raced through the sky as they run to
the window
Before they could react as they gaze in wonder,
glass breaks in their face from the impact as the wind
blowed
The Chelyabinsk meteorite landed in 2013 the day after
valentines
and released the energy of an atom bomb but multiplied by 30
times
it had been completely undetected, unsuspected by astronomers
the suns glare blocked cosmic binoculars of this rock
heavier than the Eiffel tower.
Much bigger rocks have come several times to end most life
with their meteor showers
Any day, a rock like this could land over Manhattan, Lagos
or San Antonio
We could be those roaches in your cabinet, say ehh fate
happens man, ya know?
Or we could expand demand and the pace of our space program,
We could vote people in power who care to see that humanity
Should last past what could be our last meteor shower,
Encourage our children to look up, and dream of the future,
Of course we have pressing concerns and lessons to learn,
You have to look down to tie your shoelace
So you don’t trip and break your head
But look up cause a paint can misplaced
Off of a fifth floor ledge is fixing to make you dead
When the dinosaurs died from a space rock in Mexico’s
Yucatan
But they had a peanut sized brain, and as far as we know, no
space program,
What’s our excuse?

The Bathing Family

| Illegal gold mines in the Awacachi Nature Reserve, Esmeraldas Province, Ecuador |
Cocaine.
We all know what it does to people.
The violent crime by the hooked, the conniving tendencies of
those with a habit, and the normal occasional user that is just looking for a
good time and doesn’t want to hurt anyone.
A few lines every once and a while couldn’t be that bad,
right?
I mean unless you’re addicted, or doing it to keep from feeling bad, it
has to be harmless, right?
I mean ain’t nothing with a little cocaine am I right?
Well, no, no and no.
It doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. Let me tell you a
story.
In the early 1500s, a cargo ship on its way to Peru was
packed with human beings who thought they would be cursed into a lifetime of
forced servitude but found themselves escaping a shipwreck off the coast of
what would become the border of Ecuador and Colombia. They swam to shore,
established communities in rainforests, beaches and mountains,
intermarried with the natives and later provided refuge for others who escaped
slavery near and far. To this day you go there and in many towns there are no
Hispanic or mixed looking people, just dark black people, who find themselves
historically exploited like black people everywhere on earth, but some in
addition are literally poisoned every day through the profits of cocaine.
I was blessed with the opportunity to work there during my
time as a geographer in Ecuador for 2 and a half years, my third day there, I
got in a small airplane with a team to map in high resolution the last tropical
rainforest that connects the Andes mountains to the Pacific, an area filled
with pristine waterfalls that glisten as a prism for sunlight, with an
anarchist choir of endangered birds each song stranger than the last, all
strutting their outlandish feather outfits for a mate to earn that sex that
everyone deserves. Then there are the practically extinct insect dependent
plants and flowers each of which could be a cure for cancer, their pollinators
feeding the reptiles, amphibians and mammals reliant on wildlife corridors,
ecological fauna highways from the mountaintops to the mangrove wetlands for
which we had been contracted to make aerial photography. The Awacachi reserve
is so important that the Ecuadorian government has deemed it illegal to enter
without permission and only under strict regulations to protect nature’s
fragility, but cocaine funded paramilitaries had smuggled in bulldozers to make
illegal gold mines, with lakes filled with neurotoxic mercury to separate the
soil from that yellow metal that people like for some reason.
Months later after the monotony of tetrising a puzzle of thousands of aerial photos, I returned to the area to collect GPS points to align our
mosaic to the ground. After passing trucks full of diced trees to finally reach a more
desolate clearing on a bridge, we waited for the geographical data to collect
and couldn’t help but notice a beautiful scene. A naked Afro-Ecuadorian family
bathing in a creek, the chiseled father whose machete and fishing nets are
normally an extension of himself was contently soaping his obsidian child, while
others hop around chasing each other splashing water, the potential beauty
queen mother whose figure was not phased in the slightest by years of breast
feeding, they smiled and waved, I smiled and waved back, before turning away to
respect their privacy but wanting stay to take the moment in. Maybe, they saw
me and my co-worker and envied our luxuries, absolutely, I saw them and envied
theirs.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but that same beautiful
family that I waved to, who may have distant west African descended relatives you know, were
having their brain cells deadened by the heavy metals dumped in that very
creek, and in the clams they eat that will be filtering those heavy metals out
of river bottoms for decades to come, made possible because of money from
cocaine. Maybe a better reason to not do this drug is its funding of a civil war
in Colombia where villagers are massacred, children are kidnapped into sexual
slavery, child soldiers kill innocent people for the FARC, and family members
of businesses are murdered one by one until extorted rent is paid. Or maybe a
better reason is the thousands of unaccompanied minors escaping drug gang
violence in Central America, the bodies dumped over borders for not complying
with demands of drug cartels, or communities crippled by a brutally oppressive
mafia power structure that couldn’t exist without money coming from the north.
Or maybe better reasons are the cartel wars a few hours south of San Antonio,
journalists tortured and killed for exposing the truth or the intricately
intertwined sexual slavery taking place in the neighborhoods of every major
city.
There are endless reasons not to do cocaine, to not douse
the dopamine of one's brain in the blood of all the innocent people killed along
the way, in the screams of starving children locked in closets and forced to please
soulless men, or in the gunshots that families pray will end. But for me the
biggest reason will always that family that waved and smiled to me, sparkling
in the tropical sun, enjoying a lazy Sunday in a creek contaminated by Mercury.
So the next time someone is giddy with misguided evil joy at
the expense of others they forced to suffer and they offer you a bump, or a
line or sack, please have a heart.

Roughneck Life
Obsessing over the
color of my piss for the sake of my life,
heat exhaustion is
real and people die out here on the oil field,
all the time.
Death from
dehydration is still not my most urgent concern, this 4 ton swinging
pipe is.
My bosses preach
safety, but everyone knows their 7 figures are more important
than my life is.
Hydrogen Sulfide gas
seeps out of the ground and can kill you instantly.
I'm trying not to
think about this company's semi annual fatality.
There's caustic that
can burn your skin off,
everything covered
in ice and heights that you can slip off,
some asshat not
paying attention when lives are on the line,
a co worker throwing
chains who's fucked up on meth all the time,
I live an hour and a
half away and need to get behind the wheel after busting my ass on a
16 hour shift,
I have to pay
alimony out the ass because my ex wife doesn't want to work for shit,
My wife and kids are
in another state and theres a good chance she's with a side guy,
I can't remember the
last time I wasn't sleep deprived,
My leg is fucked up
but I can't afford to miss hours,
I hope this rope
holds if I fall off this 90 foot derrick tower,
The blow out
preventer could fail and this whole rig could explode,
I think inspectors
have been paid off to ignore safety codes,
I see dudes without
fingers and wonder if that will be me,
but I prefer
adrenaline to that thought thats repeating...
I miss my family.
They say God will
redeem you from the hell you carry inside,
and that's true for
my mind, soul, hope and afterlife.
But while deep thoughts are
nice, I have to focus on my problems in this world,
and if you're a
felon, with bills, debts and child support,
there's no place
else to escape that hell,
that pays this good
without risking jail.
In this life, the
oil field is redemption.
Where else can you
come out of prison with no skills, bad english with teeth disfigured,
get hired on the
spot and make six figures.
If you're against
fracking, oil and gas,
you're against the
only hope that I have.
There are millions
out there who are just like me,
we have nothing
else, there is no plan B.
To think of climate
change but no other jobs for us out there,
would be like
holding your breath and thinking about Plato instead of air.
Give us an
alternative or shut the fuck up.
When given a chance
we always buck up.
For now we provide
you with a product you need,
for food, stuff on
shelves, to get to point B.
You depend on us so
give some respect.
We're a special
breed, we are the roughnecks

Wusup with the takin the cat in the puddle
Wusup with the boots and the cats?
Wusup with the porridges?
Wusup with the porridges?
The brown cake the pancake the peach and the syrup
The boots and the cats in the puddle of porridge
Wusup with the boots?

You´re
With a winner (4x)
That can take it (4x) Can
Lead a lot (4x) That
With a way (4x) That
Good is got (4x) And
Not with the minimum (4x)
Attackin & takin it (4x) &
Better the battle (4x) you
Watch and awaken (4x)
Dig it dig a path in the
Thicket with a hatchet and
Take a pick and wack it and
Check if you can hack it and
Chop the obstacles
Laser optical
Try to pause and then
Dry the paws and because
The cats and the paws and the water can´t be
A winner can lead on to keep the dry feet

Out soon
The nightmare will be over soon
Son, friend and uncle philanthropist goon
Returning after earning a new pair of eyes
To see the world with a new light, to rerealize
Life´s intensity experienced
Freedom understood, more than most ever could
Perspective reborn anew
Like a worm transformed to a dragon fly in the sky
Heightened perception with mind absorbent
A will to achieve like never before, but good enough a will to just be
To feel sand on the feet under a tree on the beach
The Himalaya echos, writing in the snow with ones pee
Friends, family, food and festivals wait
For the son, friend and uncle to get out in a few days

Letter to congressman "You lie" Wilson

Congressman Wilson,
First I would like to thank you for representing 6 million Americans living abroad in the caucus you formed with Rep. Carolyn Maloney (the above address information is my last US residence.) I have been living and working in Ecuador for 4 months now as a Cartographer and am persuing long term residence. I want to stay active in the laws passed in my country so I come to you to voice my concerns.
I would like to urge you to vote against SOPA. It violates the first and most sacred admentment of our Bill of Rights. Anyone who has ever lived in a developing country will have a radically different opinion of the spread of information. Years ago, when I came here for the first time, I saw the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. In a rural town on the edge of the amazon, a college level Calculus textbook on CD was for sale in an internet cafe for $4. I remember 2 years ago going to Austin Community College and having to fork over sometimes $140 for a college level calculus textbook so I could better my life and study to be an environmental engineer. Being able to download files has benefited mankind in ways we cant possibly imagine. Shops where you walk in and get whatever you want on a CD for $5 have been declared out of control by the vast majority of developing countries. The cat has been out of the bag, there is really no way to stop it, hackers will out smart any law that is passed and in the mean time it will just hurt innocent bystanders, limit free speech and inevitably lead to overeach. I hope those around you are informing you well because that is the honest truth. The United States is erupting today online in ways it never has before, people are begging for less government control of the internet. Please join the chorus of voices against this bill.

Eye world

In between a place
and another place
This is where
Human selected
Who
This or that or those or one or the other
What
Before, before later or later
When
Prior conditions that led to it
Why
Methods used to make it happen
How
We are the change we see in the world
Another pair of eyes
Another way to see
Another way to fix this
In between a way
and another way
How we made it good
It took us all then, like now
What did we do to make it happen?
Be nice and do good
All the time
That's pretty much it.
We are the change we see in the world
Another pair of eyes
Another way to see
Another way to fix this
New way
See it form
See it appear
That this thing we thought through is here
doubt just disappeared
throughout all the years
the whole world was lying
going on knowing
nothing but the old way
now we create
a new way to go by
owning up
harder than fighting for
to heal the horror
to use the mind for peace
Sowing seeds easy
to bring plant from sun
& moist soil
not so simple
going on knowing
nothing but the old way
now we create
a new way to go by
Put the path where we pave
Share the reward and the blame
Harvest is soon
we worked to make food
bitter or sweet
it's our fruit to eat
